The official release date for the Xbox One Elite controller has been revealed by Amazon and it isn't much of a surprise. It is available for pre-order now for the standard price of $149.99 and will be released on October 27th, 2015.
Now, if that date sounds familiar, it should. It's because it's the same date as Halo 5 Guardians which is Microsoft's biggest game release on Xbox One in its two years of existence. Add that to the fact that it's a shooter and Microsoft wants their new controller aimed at competitive game to be out in time for it's biggest shooter game. Makes sense, right?
The Xbox One Elite controller features a number of improvements like sensitive hairline triggers for faster shooting, bumper paddles in the rear which can be used instead of certain buttons as well as interchangeable thumb sticks and D-pad. Even if you're not a competitive gamer, you may want to pick it up to give you the extra advantage but at $149.99, it's a hefty price for casual use.
