DC Comics' most iconic heroes are returning to cereal boxes, courtesy of a new partnership between General Mills and Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
General Mills unveiled today two different cereals inspired by the upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The flavors are "Superman Caramel Crunch," with pieces shaped like the Superman Shield, and "Batman Cholocate Strawberry," with pieces modeled after the Batman emblem.
“We spent extensive time and effort to develop the flavors and look of these cereals, and their packaging, so that they will match the incredible quality of the characters they feature,” said General Mills senior marketing manager Alan Cunningham.
I can't speak much for the flavors as I've yet to try them, but the boxes are pretty cool. And coming from someone who specifically purchased The Force Awakens-themed cereal, you can bet your ass I'll be getting down on some of that Superman Caramel Crunch. Not sure how I feel about that chocolate-strawberry Batman flavor though.
Both cerals will officially debut at the Wizard World COmic Con in New Orleans later this week (Jan. 8-10). They will be available in store shelves across the U.S., and also in Canada for a limited.
General Mills is asking fans to choose a side in a retweet contest featuring both themed cereals. However, you'll be able to see both heroes actually face off against one another on the big screen when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
