At long last, one of the biggest free-to-play titles of the year has arrived. Not only is the entry barrier virtually non-existent, but with very positive user experiences during various closed betas, Genshin Impact is also looking to become one of the better examples of how to do the monetization strategy right.

Experience an immersive single-player campaign. As a traveler from another world, you will embark on a journey to reunite with your long-lost sibling and unravel the mysteries of Teyvat, and yourself.

Fly across the open world, swim through crystal-clear waters, and climb towering mountains. Stray off the beaten path to discover all the hidden secrets of a world full of wonder and mystery.

Featuring a vibrant and colorful art style, the vast open-world of Teyvat invites players to explore the many sceneries and towns and its inhabitants. At launch, Genshin Impact includes two of seven planned large cities with the remaining ones slated to be introduced at a later time with free updates. Likewise, new characters and storylines will also be added to the live service game.

You might have noticed a dominant influence from a certain other Japanese open-world game. Yes, both in style and mechanics, Genshin Impact has a lot of similarities to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. From gliding to climbing and even combat, veterans of the excellent BOTW ought to feel right at home here.

A Nintendo Switch port has been confirmed to release at a later time.
