Often in video games, if a game gets new content, it usually comes with a price attached. There are outliers, sure, but not many. Sierra and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions just happen to be one of those outliers. The game will be getting a huge content update, as well as a new name; it'll now be titled Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved, which is a nod to the original two titles.
Evolved will include 40 additional levels, new boss battles, new level layouts, new drone called the Sweeper, as well as a new super ability called the Detonator. The Adventure mode got some tweaks as well, making progression for newer players slightly easier by altering progression events.
For you hardcore Geometry Wars players out there, there's a new Hardcore mode which sports 20 unique levels, no drones, no super abilities, just your skills. Awesome!
So in total, the game will now have over 100 levels, an expanded classic mode, new challenges, a hardcore mode to test your limits, and local co-op for up to four players, as well as online competitive multiplayer for up to eight players. It's an amazing update that will cost you absolutely nothing if you already own the game.
The update will be live later today on all platforms the game is on.
