The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt almost featured headwear (like bandanas and such) for Geralt, but the designs never made it too far into game development.
CD Projekt Red's Community Lead and Website Coordinator Marcin Momot took to Twitter to respond to a fan's request to add the hairstyle from the fist Witcher game and the bandana from the book series to the The Witcher 3 for Geralt to wear. Momot responded to the eager fan with a tidbit of information on why there's not headwear for Geralt in the game.
"To be honest, our artists experimented with the headwear for Geralt," explained Momot. "But it didn't look good so that option was dropped. We tried though." It's hard to imagine Geralt running around with anything on his head — especially because headwear could affect the luscious hair physics in the game.
On the brightside, one of the free DLC packs released for The Witcher 3 added a variety of new beards and hairstyles for Geralt.
