Get Celebi for Pokémon Sun/Moon/Ultra by purchasing Pokémon Gold/Silver on Virtual Console

Back in August, it was revealed that Pokemon Gold and Silver would see a physical re-release as 'shiny packaged versions' later on this month. The physical release is simply a box with a digital download code in it for the Virtual Console on the Nintendo eShop, but it's coming with something more!

If you purchase either Pokemon Gold or Pokemon Silver for the 3DS, you will get a code that unlocks the Mythical Pokémon Celebi in your Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon game. While the Celebi code can work in the regular Sun and Moon, it can also be saved for use in the upcoming Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon games when they launch on November 17, 2017.

Here are Celebi's stats:

  • Level: 30
  • Ability: Natural Cure
  • Moves:
    • Heal Bell
    • Safeguard
    • Ancient Power
    • Future Sight

Celebi can't be obtained through normal gameplay, and this is the first opportunity you'll be able to get this Pokémon as a gift in these games. Only one Celebi can be claimed per code. The code will appear when Pokémon Gold or Pokémon Silver is purchased in Nintendo eShop between September 22, 2017 and September 21, 2018.

Enter the code by October 31, 2018 to claim Celebi in your Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, or Pokémon Ultra Moon game.

Celebi will not be available for your Pokémon Gold or Pokémon Silver game.
