Get Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition on 3DS for free

For a limited time, you can download the cooperative Zelda game Four Swords on the 3DS for free.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition is free on the Nintendo 3DS eShop until Feb. 2; after that, you'll have to pay. Like the classic Four Swords, you can play with three friends, but now the process is a lot less complicated. As long as each person has a copy of the game on his 3DS, you can sync up wirelessly.

In the GameCube and Game Boy Advance days, players had to own a copy of the title and then link up their Game Boy Advances using a special cable in order to play together. This way is much less confusing — and less expensive.

Four Swords Anniversary Edition also includes a single-player mode where you control two Links and switch between them at will.
