Three months ago, we heard about Scarlett Johansson taking the lead role in the live adaptation of the celebrated anime/manga series Ghost in Shell (due out April 2017) and then there was silence.
Thankfully, Scarlett Johansson broke her silence on the film during an interview for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Granted, Johansson didn't say much, but she did reveal when the film would start the production process:
“It’s happening. It will be shooting the beginning of next year, so I think we start production January or February and it’s me and Rupert [Sanders]; and that’s all I know.”
Ruper Sanders previously brought the world Snow White and the Huntsman — you know the movie with Kristen Stuart (from Twilight) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor). Snow White and the Huntsman was mildly recieved, ending up with an average rating of 5.6/10 on Rotten Tomatoes.
Hopefully Ghost in the Shell does better than that.
