Ghost Recon Wildlands ‘Fallen Ghosts’ expansion set to bring a bunch of new content this month

Ghost Recon Wildlands is about to get pumped up with new missions, new bosses, higher levels, new enemies, new skills, new weapons and an even harder expert mode! Without wasting too much time on everything else, let's jump straight into the details.

Ghost Recon Wildlands' expansion, 'Fallen Ghosts', will feature a campaign that holds 15 new missions, with four new bosses located in three different regions. The expansion has players starting with a new character at level 30 and that is equipped with all of the main game skills and will increase the level cap from 30 to 35.

The expansion has been described as follows:

Fallen Ghosts takes place after the fall of the Santa Blanca Cartel. With Unidad’s military force unable to maintain control over Bolivia, the country is in a state of civil war. To help restore order, the Unidad enlists cartel members, veterans, mercenaries, and criminals from various nearby countries as volunteers. Together, they form a new brutal special unit: Los Extranjeros, which is ordered to track and eliminate all American agents.

In this chaotic situation, the Ghosts have one last mission: evacuate the last CIA members and American civilians remaining in the country. Shot down en route to their mission, the Ghosts find themselves in the middle of the jungle, without external support, facing deadly enemies equipped with the latest gear and technology.

Fallen Ghosts will bring four new enemies to the game:

  • Armored: Equipped with heavy bulletproof plates, they are especially threatening in close combat.
  • Elite Sniper: Geared up with an advanced movement detector, these Elite Sniper are able to notice far away targets and never miss their shot.
  • Jammer: With a jamming antenna directly in their backpack, they are able to neutralize drones and interfere with all electronic equipment.
  • Covert Ops: Equipped with a new prototype cloaking device that makes them almost invisible and a powerful crossbow, they give a new meaning to the word “Ghost.”

Luckily six new weapons ranging from new assault rifles, sniper rifles and a crossbow that can be equipped with explosive arrows will be added to the game to help you fight off the new elite enemies.

The new enemies and expanded level cap aren't the only things coming in the expansion, players will be able to unlock nine new skills including physical, weapon and drones skills. Ubisoft teased some of the new skills on their site:

Drone Updates: The best friend of the Ghosts is now updated with even more tactical options.

  • Flash Drone: Transform your drone into a mobile flashbang grenade that will repeatedly trigger blinding flashes.
  • Attack Drone: Attach a small-caliber shooting device to your drone to transform it into a lethal flying weapon.
  • Drone Vengeance: Equip it with an explosive payload that will activate automatically when shot down by an enemy.

Physical Skills: Tracked and hunted down, you’ll be forced to unleash your inner Ghost and improve your reflexes to survive.

  • Oxygen: Improve your ability to swim underwater for a longer time. Stay undetected and find new stealthy ways to attack your enemy.
  • Reaction Marking: Improve your senses and tag every enemy shooting at you.

Weapons Skills:

  • Explosive bolt: Equip your new crossbow with explosive bolts. More deadly, less silent.
  • Fast Reload: Increase your dexterity and reload your weapons faster.

On top of all that, the advanced and expert difficulties have been tweaked to offer an even higher challenge.

Ghost Recon Wildlands 'Fallen Ghosts' will release for Season Pass owners on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on May 30th. It will release for standalone purchase in the following week, on June 6th for $14.99.
