Ghostbusters Director responds to ‘Geek Culture’ backlash

Nostalgia is a powerful thing. It can revitalize a product in a way that both modern audiences and fans of old can connect with or it can taint a brand so badly that nobody ever dares to touch it again. If you've been following the drama surrounding the Ghostbusters movie then you know that its Official Trailer has become the most disliked video on YouTube. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before someone working on it spoke up.

And that is exactly what the film's Director, Paul Feig did. In speaking with the New York Daily News, Feig is quoted as saying, "Geek Culture is home to some of the biggest assholes I've ever met in my life." To be fair he is not entirely unjustified in his reaction as "Geek Culture" does happen to have strong opinions about things that they hold dear and if it's not perfect, you will hear about it

But could the movie actually be that bad? Is it worth all the hate that it's getting? And even if it doesn't hold up to the original, then is it possible that it could be at least ok by its own merits? Only time will tell but one thing is for sure, the flames of this war are still burning hot.
