Director Paul Feig celebrated Valentine's Day by treating fans to our first teaser trailer for Sony Pictures' Ghostbusters reboot.
Although Feigh and Sony have been pretty generous on social media with images and posters, this is the first actual footage of the movie we've seen. And though it's 30 seconds in length, actual footage is probably five-or-so seconds. And that five seconds has us very intrigued and full of questions that we're going to try to answer tomorrow.
At first glance, Paul Feig's reboot appears to have a much darker and grittier than the originals. From the shots of police to the large-scale military assault, the teaser sets up a more serious tone than we're used to seeing from our Ghostbusters. But given the cast of the reboot, I have a hard time believing Feig is going all-out serious. This could just be a red herring.
I do have to say, though, that I appreciate the nod to the original theme song played by piano. Clearly Feig paid attention to the popularity of the Jurassic World and Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailers.
Even without seeing the new female cast of Ghostbusters in action, it's not hard to get excited, especially with the promise of a first full-length trailer debuting on March 3, 2016. Additionally, Feig also posted the official poster for the movie.
