Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remaster announced for this year

Who you gonna call?

Out of nowhere today we get the news that 2009’s beloved Ghostbusters video game gets a makeover for modern consoles in form of Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered. The remasters is set to come out this year for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. Check out the trailer!

Fans of the cult ghost catching crew have had a rough couple past years. After initially getting their hopes up by finally getting a new movie installment, the actual movie left them shocked by how ridiculously bad and far away from the original duology it ended up. This monstrous disaster coupled with the passing of Harold Ramis who portrayed the nerdy lovable Egon Spangler practically meant a death sentence for any future Ghostbusters.

The beloved and critically acclaimed Ghostbusters video game is back and remastered for modern consoles and PC! Strap on your proton pack once again and join the Ghostbusters on the adventure with the voice and likeness of the original crew as you battle to save New York! The game features the voices and in-game likenesses of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson in an original story penned by the writers of the original films – Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.

But that is not the whole story. Before the 2018 movie, a third Ghostbusters actually released, just not in movie form. 2009’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game was a true love letter to the Ghostbusters franchise and featured the same lovable crew of the original movies. They even did the voice work which added so much to the experience.

Now, we learn that this game is coming to modern consoles in form of a remaster. Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered aims to bring the true Ghostbusters experience to modern audiences. The remaster will feature 4K resolutions, enhanced texture and lighting and will come out this year for pretty much every platform.
