Goat Simulator has been called a lot of things—ridiculous, hysterical, the best goat simulator of all time—but nobody can dispute that it is wholly unique. And thanks to a partnership with Coffee Stain Studios, it will also be playable on PS3 and PS4 come August 11.
The game was confirmed for Xbox and mobile platforms in August 2014, so it's no surprise to see it make its way to PlayStation. Rest assured, the iconic wackiness will remain intact for its latest release. As Double Eleven's Mark South wrote on the PlayStation Blog, "you can fly, blow stuff up, headbutt stuff, [and] do cool tricks mid-air." Both versions of the game will also support local multiplayer, though PS3 will be limited to two players while PS4 can handle up to four.
Double Eleven is also rolling out a new feature for the PlayStation editions: GoatVR. Aptly named, GoatVR provides a simulated virtual reality experience without the need of a head-mounted display. The studio is working toward proper HMD support for Goat Simulator, but in the meantime claims GoatVR is still a significantly different experience.
Different really is the word for a simulated simulator.
