Welp, we can probably kiss any notion of seeing the PlayStation 4's new God of War game in 2017 goodbye. If you've been keeping tabs on Kratos' voice actor, Christopher Judge on Twitter, you'd know that he's listed the game in his bio as God of War (2017) for a little while now. Apparently, he's recently changed the listing to God of War (2018).

There were a couple of other previous hints for a 2017 debut, including a Father's Day ad in Spain and a Portuguese retailer listing the game for a September release. Outside of the E3 2017 Gameplay Trailer (seen above), there isn't a whole lot that is known about the game outside of the fact that the game will take place in an age before the Vikings.
Game Director Cory Barlog says his confidence is "high" that the game will have strong narrative chops, but that fans will ultimately "be the judge."
