Director Alex Proyas has taken to Facebook raging over how his latest film, Gods of Egypt, has fared in reviews. Gods of Egypt has been considered an all-around flop, the film had a budget of $140 million and only earned $14 million on its opening weekend in the United States.
While filmgoers ignored the film's release for the most part, reviewers have ravaged the film from beginning to end, saying "As bad movies go, this one at least is all-in on its badness" and "If it wasn't all CGI, I would have said I hope they saved the sets for another, better movie."
In defense of his film, Alex Proyas let us in on how he really feels about reviewers – especially after looking at reviews for Gods of Egypt. Proyas calls film critics "a pack of diseased vultures" who only copy what the other vulture says making their reviews "worthless."
He even goes on to say that good reviewers are "nearly all dead."
