Godus beta begins September 13 — world as big as Jupiter

Today at PAX Prime, Peter Molyneux announced that Godus, the reimagining of his classic god game Populous, will launch as a beta through Steam on September 13.

The god game raised over £526,563 on Kickstarter last year in November and December. Bryan Henderson, the winner of Molyneux's mobile game experiment Curiosity — and the last person to tap inside the cube — will be the first ruler of the sim.

Godus's world is about the size of Jupiter, Molyneux revealed. It would take an entire lifetime to scroll from one end to the other.

Molyneux's studio, 22Cans, is developing the title for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.
