Godzilla Vs. King Kong reportedly in the works

Let them fight!

Reports coming from Deadline suggests that we might see a King Kong vs. Godzilla film in the near future. Legendary Pictures’ Thomas Tull is moving his unfinished King Kong movie— Kong: Skull Island, back to Warner Bros. This is necessary so that the two studios— Legendary & Toho, could make the mashup possible.

Since both projects are going to be under one roof, development on a crossover could now begin. This Kong vs Godzilla is a long term project though, meaning that we’re still going to have to wait for both Godzilla 2 and Kong: Skull Island to release. Only then will the two monsters clash.

It is reported that Kong: Skull Island is much further in development, with casting going quickly for the movie, Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston and Corey Hawkins are already confirmed. Rumors are that Samuel L. Jackson and John C. Reilly are to star as the main roles and filming is expected to start later this year or in early 2016

The 2014 reboot of Godzilla did phenomenally well which then launched Gareth Edwards to his next film which happens to be Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Rogue One is still in early production and the Godzilla has an expected release date of 2018 so you can see that we’re still aways off from the movie being close, but nonetheless the epic battles of monsters will happen, all in good time.
