Gold Mega Man amiibo exclusive to North America

In a previous Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed the Gold Mega Man amiibo that will be used interchangably with the standard Mega Man amiibo to unlock ten new stages in challenge mode. These new stages are fan-created that were created as part of a contest that allowed fans to create their own maps for Mega Man Legacy Collection on 3DS.

The Gold Mega Man amiibo is shiny rarity in the Nintendo world — it's exclusive to North America. Typically, we write about the sweet, sweet goods that Japan gets from Nintendo (or PlayStation) that we will never see unless we import them.

The news of the exclusivity came to us through Twitter, where the official Capcom UK revealed that the gold item would be coming to North America only, but the content that it unlocked would be available to either amiibo.

If you're an amiibo hunter outside of North America, you'll need to look into importation.
