Google Stadia kicks off the age of game streaming on November 19

The future starts soon

Google has announced the launch date for their futuristic new gaming service Google Stadia. Starting November 19, users will be able to experience high-end gaming without the need of a console or gaming PC.

The console generation is quickly nearing its end. With both Microsoft and Sony openly talking and sharing details about their next-gen systems, we are the cusp of the future of gaming. But unlike past generational leaps between consoles, next year is poised to become probably the biggest change since the inception of home consoles. Every major player in the gaming scene has been talking a great deal about game streaming. The futuristic way of delivering games to players without the need of having capable gaming systems locally. Whether it’s consoles or PCs. Similar to how Netflix and YouTube have disrupted the decade-old TV industry, game streaming aims high and wants literally everyone with a phone, tablet or TV to play even the most demanding games at their highest fidelity.

This works with the power of the cloud. What has become a joke thanks to lofty promises from the launch of the Xbox One, is likely to become reality. With massive server farms across the globe, Google, Microsoft and Sony plan to let their users stream games over the internet. Google’s own Stadia service is now very close to its launch, with pretty much one month left before gamers can start playing. Google is promising an unparalleled experience with gameplay of up to 4K at 60fps with HDR. If your broadband connection is up to snuff, of course.

The service consists of two options with the regular Stadia experience being free apart game purchases. The resolution is also capped at 1080p. For the ultimate experience, users will have to suscribe to Stadia Pro where they will get 4K streams, free games and discounts.

Stay tuned to see whether Google overpromised, or we are wintessing the future of gaming in indeed.
