Gotham City Impostors goes free to play on PC

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's wonky  first-person shooter Gotham City Impostors is going free to play on PC, the company announced today.

Players are now able to download the latest version of the game via Steam for no cost and engage in the fast-paced chaos in a war between The Bats and Jokerz. Those who download the Gotham City Impostors Free to Play will have access to the original game, as well as the DLC packs, which includes new maps, weapons, mascots and more.

Inspired by the DC Comics characters Batman and The Joker, Gotham City Impostors allows up to 12 players to battle for control of Gotham City as part of The Bats or Jokerz. Players can engage in unconventional urban warfare with unique gadgets and weaponry. Players can level up and unlock new Bats or Jokerz costumes and build a specific loadout from the huge assortment of items.

All together, the game features eight maps — 25th Floor, Ace Chemical, Amusement Mile, Arkham Asylum, Crime Alley, The Docks, East End, and Gotham Power — and four playable modes — Team Deathmatch, Fumigation, Bounty Hunter, or Psych Warfare. There is also a Challenges mode, a single-player mode that allows players to explore the different maps and practice using different weapons and items.
