Gotham Season 2 teaser offers look at rumored Joker

A second teaser trailer for Gotham has released, showing off some promising new storylines and a couple of new villains that are heading to the show. The 30-second teaser offers first looks at new characters Theo Galavan (James Frain) and his sister Tabitha (Jessica Lucas), two new villains who will fill in the empty space for Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith).

We also got a deeper look at the rumored soon-to-be Joker. It has been confirmed in an interview with Comicbook.com that we will definitely see a Joker origin story. Fans of the show have been predicting that Jerome, who first appeared in Gotham season 1, is to eventually become the Joker. Jerome was a young man who lived his life his life traveling with the carnival and murdered his mother, he was taken to jail which was the last time we saw him. This is just a theory, but it is the theory that has been getting the most buzz from both the fans and from FOX.

"You’re not going to see teases of The Joker before the end of the season, because the beginning of Season 2 is a big Joker-oriented, or ‘how The Joker came to be’ kind of story. The beginning of Season 2 is the very earliest origins of how The Joker came to be." Heller says.

Gotham returns Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
