When Sony today announced Gran Turismo 6 for the PlayStation 3, it seemingly spelled an end to the rumors that the newest entry in the iconic PlayStation racing simulator series could see a release on the PS4. However, in a new twist to the ongoing speculation, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi revealed the sixth entry in the series is still being considered for release on Sony's next-gen console.
"We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now," Yamauchi told IGN at today's Gran Turismo 15th Anniversary event.
But before we get too excited, Yamauchi explained that one players have "thoroughly played out the system, if the PlayStation 4 version came out naturally, as part of that process, I would think that would be the best scenario."
As far as transferring your saved data from the PS3 to the PS4, he said you'd "probably" be able to do such a thing. You know, if the PS4 version were to release. Which is possible at this point, but certainly not definite.
