Gran Turismo Sport August Update includes new Cars, Tracks and Events

Polyphony Digital, masterminds behind racing simulator legend, has unveiled what the August Update will bring for Gran Turismo Sport. The update launches today and includes a whopping 8 new vehicles, one new track and three new GT League Events. The content will be available free for all players.

Gran Turismo Sport didn’t have the best of launches, plagued by a puzzling state of being an always-online game yet not but still managed to satisfy racing fans who have gasoline running through their veins. Being a drop-dead gorgeous and likely the best car simulation around also helped a lot.

In the developer’s journey of cementing GT Sport as the racing GaaS on the Playstation 4, the team has done an outstanding job of supporting their game with substantial and steady content updates. This August Update is the latest in great post-launch support and promises to deliver dozens of hours of new gameplay.

As detailed on the Playstation Blog, the main meat of the August Update are cars, tracks, events and a few extra additions. The 8 new vehicles are following:

  • Ford Mark IV Race Car ’67
  • Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupé ’64
  • Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo
  • Abarth 500 ’09
  • Abarth 1500 Biposto Bertone B.A.T 1 ’52
  • Volkswagen 1200 ’66
  • Mini-Cooper ‘S’ ’65
  • Lancia DELTA HF Integrale Evoluzione ’91

With the Red Bull Ring, GT Sport receives its newest track. Located in a scenic Austria, the track features a short and long version as well as each in reverse. The mountainous terrain aims to offer a challenging learning curve for seasoned player.

Last but not least, three new GT League Events are also included. They are as following:

  • Beetle & Samba Bus Festa – Beginner League
  • Group 3 Cup – Amateur League
  • Nostalgic 1979 – Professional League

The remaining updates include enhanced Scapes in Cuba for use in the impressive Photo Mode of Gran Turismo Sport, a new addition to the Circuit Experience and opens up the Zagato Museum for exploration.
