Gran Turismo Sport will not feature Dynamic Weather or day/night cycles

Features that were nearly considered standard for racing games on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, will not be in Gran Turismo Sport. The PlayStation 4 exclusive game opted out of the day/night time transition, as well as dynamic weather, to keep the game's framerate and quality at the levels the developer expects of the game.

“We opted to not have the transitions in the race this time in order to raise the framerate and the quality of the image during the race,” said series director Kazunori Yamauchi in an interview with GTPlanet. “So the user will be able to set that before they enter the race. So you’ll still be able to have night races, morning, races at dawn, dusk, and so on.”

Forza Horizon 2, Driveclub, and Project Cars all brought dynamic weather and time with them without too much of a sacrifice when it came to the game's framerate and quality. It's interesting to see the GT Sport's performance is reliant on those features being removed.
