Since the release of the Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer a few months back, news about Rockstar's upcoming blockbuster title has been scarce. Aside from a few rumors here and there, we haven't really heard much about the game as far as official gameplay details. Most of what we know has been assumed judging from the trailer.
But the lack of GTA 5 news will change soon – or at least in "a few months' time", according to Rockstar Games who finally addressed fans requests for more updates.
In a Q&A session with fans mostly about Max Payne 3, Rockstar did fans the service of somewhat addressing Grand Theft Auto 5. Although we still didn't get any updates about the game, at least we know we will soon.
"First of all, we’d like to again thank you and everyone out there for the amazing response to the debut Grand Theft Auto V trailer. We know that there are a ton of questions you all have about the game, including release date and lots else," Rockstar said in response to fans requests. "Right now, we are very hard at work on the game and are excited as well to show and tell you more as development progresses – expect that we'll be talking much more about GTA V starting at some point in a few months’ time."
"Please hang tight until then and thank you all for your patience and support!"
Rockstar did talk a little about the setting of the game, reiterating what we already knew.
"As we revealed in our announcement about the game being officially in full development, Grand Theft Auto V is set in the city of Los Santos and its surrounding hills, countryside and beaches – and it will be the largest and most ambitious open world game we’ve ever created…"
Of course, these words were echoed from when Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser told GameInformer that GTA 5 will have a "very big map".
Despite the lack of information surrounding the game, many analysts are predicted Grand Theft Auto 5 to be 2012's biggest release.
