As promised, Rockstar Games unveiled Grand Theft Auto Online, the multiplayer portion of Grand Theft Auto 5.
The online mode takes the persistent, constantly expanding world from Grand Theft Auto 5 and presents several "structured and unstructured" multiplayer activities you can partake in. This includes the freedom to explore Los Santos alone or with friends, working cooperatively as a Crew to pull off heists and other events, or compete in traditional online game modes. All the while, you'll earn cash to customize your character, weapon of choice, and vehicle. Check out the trailer below for a more in-depth look.
Grand Theft Auto Online is free with every copy of Grand Theft Auto 5 and launches on October 1, a few weeks after the game's initial launch on September 17.
