For nearly four years, players have combed over the entire map of Grand Theft Auto V looking for revelations in a mystery Rockstar started themselves. When the game first came out in 2013, fans found themselves exploring the massive world Rockstar Games had laid out in front of them. Eventually, they came across a mural on top of the game's tallest mountain, Mount Chiliad.
No one really knew what it meant but it seemed to be a map of the mountain with various markers on key points of it. Aside from the markers, the mural drew attention to an image of an egg, a UFO, and a jetpack. What does it mean? No idea! Some thought it might have been a plot synopsis of the game's story but others speculated it's the existence of aliens in GTA V due to how the game includes aliens in hallucinations and dream sequences throughout the game and there's a whole subplot dedicated to finding UFO parts for someone.
Players also discovered that once you 100% the game (all side missions and main missions completed, all collectibles gathered, etc.), UFOs start to appear at key locations in the game. One is near the game's military base, leading to speculation that they're holding aliens and alien technology inside, and the rest are scattered throughout the map. There is another one that appears at the top of Mount Chiliad but it only shows up at a 3:00 AM when it's raining. Destined to find out what the meaning behind all of this is and if there is more to this mystery, a hardcore group of players have been not only searching the map for answers but also deep inside the game's coding and it appears it has finally paid off.
After several years of basically nothing, a substantial new finding has surfaced: Models and scripts for a UFO, an egg, and a variety of other things were added in the new Gunrunning update. The egg has always been buried deep inside the code but now it has scripting attached to it meaning it has a purpose in the game, causing an event or has some sort of form of interactivity. Right now, there doesn't seem to be a way to actually use any of these things in the game but many suspect Rockstar is simply preparing to do something very big.
In addition to that, each item has a set of coordinates tied to them and they all link to one place: Fort Zancudo, the military base. Fans are speculating that a UFO will crash near the base and it'll cause an event in the game but no one knows for certain. Put on your tinfoil caps and let's hope the wait has been worth it.
