Grow Home sets new Ubisoft record on PlayStation

Ubisoft's platforming adventure finds a nice home on PlayStation

Ubisoft announced today that Grow Home has become the fastest-downloaded Ubisoft game on PlayStation to date.

While exciting, the record isn't too surprising given that Grow Home had won PlayStation's public vote to become this month's free PlayStation Plus games — so clearly there was lots of demand for the adventure platformer. As the winner of Sony's inaugural Vote to Play program, Grow Home was available to all PlayStation Plus members for free, helping the game rack up more than 1.5 million downloads in its first week of release.

“We are thrilled that BUD has found a new home in the PS4 community,” said Pete Young, producer of the game at Ubisoft Reflections. “Grow Home was a great opportunity for our team to experiment and develop new technology and have fun at the same time.”

Grow Home isn't the only game to experience success through Sony's PlayStation Plus program. Psyonix's Rocket League also exploded onto the scene thanks largely to the game's release on PlayStation through PS Plus.
