Self-driving cars are one of the modern day's world wonders, they are safe and you don't have to put any effort into driving. However, the technology might not be suited for GTA V though.
YouTuber pizzaforbreakfast made a handy little video showing the viewers why self-driving cars aren't the best idea in the GTA world and it's mostly beacause they runs over people.
The video shows what it would look like if the self-driving Google cars made it into Los Santos, apparently it works worse in a simulated environment that on real streets. In reality the Google cars are quite safe and they have partnered both with Lexus and Chrysler.
If the self-driving cars is GTA are based on how the players drive then it's no wonder that they are so terrible.
