GTA 5: Online Heists coming with first update after PS4, Xbox One launch

Earlier this week, we heard that heists would be coming to GTA Online "soon," but we didn't know how soon. Now, we finally kind of, sort of have a timetable for when these elaborate missions will arrive in the online portion of Grand Theft Auto 5.

According to developer Rockstar Games, the highly anticipated launch of Online Heists will be available for all four consoles — PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 — as part of the first GTA Online Update, which is scheduled to happen somtime after the game launches on PS4 and Xbox One next week. While Rockstar didn't provide an exact date, they did promise more details will come "very soon."

Rockstar last provided a brief statement back in June, addressing the delayed release of heists, which were originally supposed to be implemented in the spring of this year, but didn't offer any sort of explanation. "We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can," Rockstar said at the time. "Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support."

Grand Theft Auto 5 is set to release on November 18 for PS4 and Xbox One. Let's hope the first GTA Online update doesn't come too long after that.
