It goes without saying that Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 5 has been a massive success. Heck, the open-world, action-adventure topped $800 million in sales in just one day, later going on to set a new record as the fastest game to surpass $1 billion in sales.
New data from Chart-Track reveals that GTA 5 has now sold over 5 million copies in the UK alone — and that's without factoring in digital sales into its calculations. That's about 1.5 million more copies sold from the figure we heard in January 2014.
In other UK sales news, Slightly Mad Studios' Project Cars again held the number one spot for the second week in a row to become the first Bandai Namco title to do so since Ridge Racer Type 4 over 16 years ago.
Bethesda's new standalone DLC, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood debuted at number 2. " Despite having been launched digitally on May 5th, the boxed versions debut strongly in the chart, especially the PS4 version which takes a 67% share compared to Xbox One’s 27%," the report reads.
