GTA 5 PC rumored for cancellation; 4Chan responds by hacking

Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC could be cancelled, according to an alleged Rockstar employee who goes by the name Brad.

Brad, who claims to work as Marketing director for Rockstar North and is also the founder of his own marketing firm "Rantic," expressed concern about the PC version of GTA 5 on his company's website.

Fox Weekly has also posted an excerpt from an interview with Rantic Chairman John Hoffberger, talking about the future of GTA 5 on PC. In the interview, Hofberger states that it could be cancelled due to "corporate problems."

"The next-gen console launch dates are still intact," Hoffberger said, "but the PC game launch has been agitating for Rockstar staff." He added that "Rockstar never wanted to release a PC version of GTA 5, but due to high public demand, they were forced to do so."

And how did the PC master race respond to this rumor? By hacking Rantic, naturally. The site currently displays a message for Rockstar that reads: "Hacked by 4chan, Give us our GTA 5 for PC."

This rumor comes on the heels of UK retailer GAME tweeting a "provisional" release date for GTA 5 on Xbox One and PS4 — November 1st. There was no mention of the PC version. GTA 5 was first confirmed to be coming to next-gen systems and PC back at E3 in June.

Keep in mind, ALL of this is rumor. So take it with a grain of salt. We have reached out to Rockstar for comment, however.
