Grand Theft Auto 6 might be a long way away and until Rockstar officially announces the title, one can only dream of how the game will pan out. But that hasn't stopped rumors from circulating.
Reports over the last few days seem to suggest that the idea of having London as the setting of GTA 6 is very much on the table, seemingly moving away from the American culture the game is associated with.
For many years Grand Theft Auto games have been set in different parts of the United States, but with Rockstar's deep British heritage, rumors of a London setting may not come as a surprise to many gamers.
Now, for those that are not aware, this wouldn't be the first time in Rockstar's long history with the franchise that they have dabbled around with a European setting.
Grand Theft Auto: London, 1969 released in 1999 and the idea of going back to the game's roots would arguably not only have nostalgia value, but entertainment value as well.
The rumors – as detailed by Yibada – also include some finer details about the game, such as characters that we can supposedly expect in GTA 6.
"GTA 6 would also feature both male and female playable characters besides the new car stunts, Movie News Guide reported. The game could already be in the development as Rockstar's five-year sequel cycle is expected to hit a new one in 2018," the report states.
Does that mean we could see a female protagonist in GTA 6? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
This isn't the first time that Rockstar has been drawn into speculation of moving GTA to another country, of course. If you remember rightly, not too long ago it seemed that all signs were pointing towards Tokyo, Japan to be the next home of GTA, however those rumors seem to have petered out in recent weeks, with all eyes on the English Capital.
Until we see official confirmation and details released, we would advise that you take these rumors with a pinch of salt, as Rockstar has previously denied speculation of a London setting in the past.
Do you think London would be a good setting for GTA 6?
