GTA Online also adding Adversary Modes and Daily Objectives next week

Heists isn't the only new feature coming to GTA Online next week

In addition to next week's arrival of the eagerly awaited Heists for GTA Online, Grand Theft Auto V's online multiplayer mode is also adding a number of other new features and enhancements designed "to make the entire GTA Online experience bigger and depper."

The first new feature is Adversary Modes, which will add three new kinds of competition to GTA Online. According to Rockstar, "These brand new player vs. player modes bring a range of intense new competitive challenges to GTA Online. Adversary Modes will unlock as players progress through Heists."

Come Out To Play sees a team of three runners trying to make it home, while a team of Hunters are out to get them. Runners are well-armed, but limited to movement by foot, while the opposition wield free-aim shotguns and ride motorbikes or ATVs. What's more, Hunters have unlimited lives, but are forced to stay on their bikes; Runners have just one life but all of their weapons available.

Siege Mentality pits four players against up to six "determined attackers" in a location defense mode. Attackers have unlimited lives but fight only with sawn-off shotguns, while defenders have full use of their weapon arsenal.

Lastly, Hasta La Vista is a big chase as Truckers in big rig cabs hunt down a team of Cyclists. Just like the iconic scene in Terminator 2! The cyclists must reach the final check point without getting crushed by the truck. Only one cyclist needs to reach the final checkpoint for the team to win.

In addition to Adversary Modes, next week's update will also see the arrival of Daily Objectives. These present you with a rotating series of challenges to take on for GTA$ rewards. Three new objectives will be offered each day, with players able to stack up challenges over consecutive days to earn bonuses of up to $500,000.

Freemode activities will give you and your friends another opportunity for more cash and RP rewards. "Be on the lookout for calls from Lester, who may need help to distract the cops in a specific area while Lester’s accomplices finish their criminal business. Lamar may call looking for help destroying a vehicle or two, while Trevor and Ron need occasional help picking their business rival’s planes out of the sky," Rockstar teases.

Finally, there's a new in-game Email notification system that will allow you to contact and message any of your GTA Online friends, as well as a slew of new Awards that yield new items like exclusive t-shirts and car modifications.

All of these new modes and features will arrive in GTA Online alongside Heists next week on March 10th. They will also be available on day one for PC when it launches on April 14.
