I'm beginning to think Rockstar Games doesn't know how to fix the problems plaguing Grand Theft Auto Online on PS4 and Xbox One. Since GTA 5's next-gen re-release last week, the online multiplayer mode has been experiencing a plethora of problems — the most common being the inability for players to actually connect to the servers.
Last weekend, Rockstar addressed the issue with the release of a new patch, update 1.03, which the developer claims resolved the problems. Of course, the comments on Rockstar's support website suggests otherwise. Even today, days after the 1.03 update, the board is filled with PS4 and Xbox One owners complaining about being unable to log on to GTA Online.
For its part, Rockstar maintains the recent update fixed the problems, and is pointing people having problems to their troubleshooting guide.
"On Saturday, we released patch 1.03 to address ongoing connection issues. We can help troubleshoot your connection individually as well – As above, I'll need to know if you have a separate modem from your router, or is your router and modem combined into one unit?" Rockstar replied to one user. For the most part, Rockstar seems confident that it has fixed the problem and that any connection problems people are experiencing is due to their router or modem.
Basically, it's just a giant mess, and I don't know what to believe. Are you still having problems connecting to GTA Online on PS4 or Xbox One?
