GTA Online’s new Cayo Perico Heist biggest ever, Features new map

As promised before, Rockstar Games plans to end the year on a high-note for GTA Online. The ever-popular multiplayer portion of GTA5 receives the brand-new Cayo Perico Heist next month, on December 15th. And there’s plenty of reason to be excited. Even for gamers who don’t like multiplayer. Check out the trailer for it here!

More than seven years after its launch, and GTA Online still remains one of the most popular online games on the market. And that’s despite it being a mere MP mode for GTA5. This insane success is all thanks to Rockstar’s post-launch support for the online mode such as big new content updates like heists. With The Cayo Perico Heist, its the biggest heist to date. Yes, you read that right. Not only big, but the biggest. That’s at least according to Rockstar Games who detailed what fans can expect next month.

The Cayo Perico Heist looks indeed very ambitious and could almost count as an expansion. That’s because it introduces a brand-new playground. The heist takes place on a tropical private island and thus is the first major new map to GTA5. A huge deal on its own.

Players have to infiltrate the remote private island and secure evidence. But this isn’t a holiday resort and players should expect heavy resistance. That’s because the island belongs to one of the most dangerous drug dealers in the world of GTA.

But it doesn’t end here. Unlike other heists, The Cayo Perico Heist can be played either in a crew of up to 4 people, or alone. Yes, you’ve read it right. This new heist is designed to enjoyed by solo players, as well.

So, it’s no surprise that the fan reception and anticipation for The Cayo Perico Heist is sky-high among fans of the game as a whole. The new heist goes live on December 15th on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S owners can also play it via backward compatibility.
