Guacamelee new edition coming for Xbox One and PS4; Drinkbox planning mobile game and more

Guacamelee is headed to next-gen consoles, according to a cached report on IGN (via All Games Beta).

Drinkbox Studios will launch the Super Turbo Champion Edition of its cultural action-platformer in spring 2014. The developer has amped up the visuals and added new content, so this won't be a simple port.

The new edition will introduce two new worlds, more enemies, and a chicken-bomb ability.

The studio also plans to bring its other title, the puzzle-platformer Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 early next year. Drinkbox is developing a mobile game under the codename "Slash."

"Slash is exposing DrinkBox Studios to a range of new challenges," said designer Chris McQuinn. "From exploring a grittier art style and more serious storytelling, to developing a compelling touch-screen battle system."

Guacamelee is currently available for PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PC.
