Guardians channel Romeo and Juliet for new Destiny farming trick

Guardians perform 'suicide runs' in Crimson Doubles to farm gear

Earlier this month, Bungie sent out a questionnaire asking retired Guardians why they stopped playing Destiny. While the responses varied from player to player, a popular answer was the game's horrible loot system.

The grind in Destiny is so bad that the game has repeatedly seen players find new ways to increase their chances of scoring better gear. From the loot cave to boss exploits, Guardians are always seeking ways to alleviate the grind in Destiny's reward system.

The latest comes in the form of a new farming trick for Destiny's 2v2 Crucible mode, Crimson Doubles. The special PvP event rewards participants with a Valentine's Day-themed Ghost Shell that maxes out at 320 Light. And that's the key — it rewards participants, regardless of how you perform in the match.

So clever Guardians have discovered the most effective way to farm this gear is to simply complete a match as quickly as possible, by any means possible — even suicide.

In true Romeo and Juliet fashion, Guardians are partnering together for suicide runs in Crimson Doubles. Here's an example:

While you probably can't get a better love story than Romeo and Juliet for Valentine's Day, it speaks volumes about the current state of Destiny that Guardians would rather spend their time committing suicide than properly playing the new game mode. Simply put, Destiny has lost its fun factor and the horrible grinding is much to blame.
