Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set announced for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes 2.0 Edition

Disney Interactive announced today that Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) will be receiving a Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set. Previously, there were only two other play sets announced — Avengers and Ultimate Spider-Man. Previously announced characters also include Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Spider-Man, Venom, Nick Fury, Iron Fist, Nova, Maleficent, Merida, Stitch and Tinkerbell. 

The Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set follows Star-Lord and his fellow Guardians as they arrive at Knowhere. They just stole a powerful cosmic object from the villain Ronan the Accuser. Players will have to protect Knowhere from Ronan and his attacking Sakaaran fleet while keeping their newly liberated item safe from Ronan's grasp. 

Playable characters for the Play Set include Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, Gamora and Groot. But you'll also be able to use crossover characters Iron Man and Nova. Mission givers in the Play Set include Cosmo, The Collector and Yondu. 

Guardians of the Galaxy Power Discs include:

  • The Rip – Turn Toy Box skies into the skies of Knowhere with this Power Disc and transport yourself to the outer edge of all space and time

Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) will be available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U this September. The Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set will be available this fall.
