Director James Gunn took to social media recently to announce that production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is just about underway.
"Today was our first day of the 'pre-shoot.'" the director announced. "Next week is official 1st day of photography."
Responding to a fan's question about the film's cast, Gunn said to expect some news next week. There's been numerous rumors surrounding the upcoming sequel, most of them involving the arrival of new characters. There's also been plenty of speculation surrounding the actor pegged to play Peter Quill's (Star-Lord's) father, with Kurt Russell leading the conversation.
In announcing the start of production, Gunn also revealed the official logo for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, while going the great David Coverdale. "Here I go again," the director said.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is due out in May 2017.
