The wait is almost over for Guild Wars 2. Although the game doesn't officially launch until August 28, early access will be granted as part of the Headstart program for those fans who have pre-purchased Guild Wars 2.
Beginning tomorrow, August 25, those who have pre-purchased the game can log in and begin their adventure in Guild Wars 2 as they experience the game's groundbreaking dynamic event system, action-oriented combat, and in-depth story lines — three days before everyone else.
“Five years ago we set out to develop a game that finally fulfilled the promise of online worlds”, said ArenaNet president and co-founder O’Brien. “We questioned everything that had previously been taken for granted and we never settled for ‘good enough’. Now, we’re finally ready to introduce Guild Wars 2 to gamers who are looking for the next evolution in online gaming”.
“Guild Wars 2 is launching at a time when players are looking for something different in an MMO: a game that offers them an innovative and unique experience without a monthly subscription," O’Brien added. “Guild Wars 2 is that game, and we believe it will fundamentally change the way people think about online RPGs”.
In addition to early access, those who pre-purchase will get the exclusive in-game Hero's Band, an item which provides +2 Power, +2 Precision, +2 Toughness, +2 Vitality, +2 Condition Damage, +2% Critical Damage, and +2 Healing. To pre-order the game, you can do so here.
