Konami might have made their best attempt at ungluing Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and director Guillermo del Toro with the cancellation of Silent Hills Fortunately, the duo announced that they still intended on working together shortly after the cancellation was made public.
The two friends were reunited at the DICE Summit, where they further cemented their plans for the future.
"Of course, I'd love to [work with del Toro on something]," said Kojima (via ArsTechnica). "I don't care what it is. It will probably be really tough. A game or a movie, I don't care, we'll do it."
It isn't just Kojima that is interested in creating anything with the director. It appears as though the Del Toro is interested in creating anything with Kojima as well.
"I'll do whatever the f*ck he wants," del Toro added. "The only things I want to work on are the ones that motivate me. The only things I want to do are where I'll have fun, and when we work together we always have fun."
While anything is great, Del Toro has an ability to make haunting films, a theme echoed in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. If the duo don't create a nice and dark game (like Silent Hills could have been), it would be a shame.
