Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- cleverly disguises its characters as 2D models

I don't consider myself a fighting game afficionado, but damn I'm impressed with Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. At first glance, it's a 2D fighter like all of its previous iterations, however that doesn't seem to be the case entirely.

While the core game still is based on being a 2D fighter, the characters are actually 3D models, masked to only looke like they're 2D. This system allows for some truly flashy moves that shift the camera from a 2D perspective to a 3D on.

The game is slated to come out on December 16th for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It will also come in a Limited Edition that will include items like the Vocal Collection, Character Book as well as a Sol Badguy belt buckle.
