Guns and Robots is a free-to-play shooter set in the Wild West … with robots!

The Old West was an awesome place rife with great storytelling, gritty gun-slinging folk, and buxom wenches sitting atop pianos as a guy named Bang Bang Charlie played on in a sleazy saloon. Those were great times, but there was something missing. Robots, people. Robots were missing.

It looks like that's no longer the case, because developer Masthead Studios will be releasing Guns and Robots. As you can tell from the title of the game (and the previous paragraph leading up to this one), it's a third-person shooter starring robots in the Wild West. Umm, freakin' yay?

Guns and Robots, which will be a free-to-play PC game, will feature character customization options as well as light, medium, and heavy weight classes. The game will include deathmatch and capture the flag modes, team multiplayer, and achievements.

If you're looking for some lighthearted robot action set in the Wild West, watch out for Guns and Robots. According to the game's Facebook page, you can expect it sometime this December.
