Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will be publicly available to play at Gamescom 2016

Gamescom 2016 is right around the corner and CD Projekt RED is gearing up for the show by announcing that they will be bringing their upcoming Free-to-Play standalone card game Gwent to the show floor and will be letting anyone and everyone give it a try. If you are heading to the show, you can find the game in the Entertainment Area (hall 8, booth  B-053; August 17-21) and in the Business Area (hall 2.1, booth A-021; August 17-19).

CD Projekt RED's Senior Social Media and Community Coordinator, Marcin Momot said:

"GWENT was made because of the amazing effort of The Witcher community — we’ve received tons and tons of messages to make a standalone version happen and now we finally have the chance to show GWENT to the public for the first time!…Gamescom is one of those special events that allows us to thank gamers for their support in person. So we’d love to have a chat with you in Cologne, hear your thoughts about GWENT and get direct feedback on how the game plays for you."

CD Projekt RED officially revealed Gwent at E3 2016 after weeks of speculation that the studio was going to reveal it. However, once the trademark came out, everyone pretty much knew what was coming. Regardless, Witcher fans (like myself) are looking forward to getting their grubby little hands on the standalone Gwent game, and it won't be long until you can do so. It's also worth noting that you can sign up for the Official Gwent Beta here.

Gamescom 2016 will run from August 18th to the 21st in Cologne, Germany.
