Half-Life-based multiplayer game Sven Co-op now available

Cooperative game based around Valve's Half-Life gets standalone release

Sven Co-op, a multiplayer cooperative game based on the original Half-Life, has released on Steam and is now available to download for free.

Based on Valve Software's Half-Life, Sven Co-op sees players work together against enemies and solve puzzles as a team. Although Sven Co-op was originally made available 17 years ago, shortly after the release of the original Half-Life, it has seen dramatic changes and improvements over the years. An agreement with Valve provided the developers of the mod with a Goldsrc license, allowing the team to update the engine itself to allow Sven Co-op and its maps to surpass the limitations of standard mods.

While Sven Co-op is similar to Half-Life, the difficulty has been ramped up and adjusted for team play. The game's levels are set as missions and generally separate from each other. The goal for most of the maps is to work together to reach the end or achieve an objective.

You can download Sven Co-op for free on Steam. For more details check out the mod's official page.
