Microsoft has shared that the newest Halo game release for The Master Chief Collection on PC is inbound for next week. Halo 2: Anniversary will pick up the journey of Master Chief to save earth from the Covenants attack on earth.
It’s still hard to believe that Microsoft has opened up to such a large degree for the PC platform. All first-party games are being concurrently launched on the Xbox and PC but none other than their platform mascot hits the point home harder. Master Chief is now back on the PC with the staggered release of The Master Chief Collection.
Halo 2: Anniversary comes to PC as the next installment in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Now optimized for PC, experience the impeccably remastered edition of the original Halo 2 game. Following the destruction of Halo, humankind experiences a short-lived victory. Eager for revenge, the Covenant launches a surprise attack on Earth, but they find themselves ill-prepared to defeat the UNSC’s home fleet and are forced to flee into slipspace. When the Master Chief pursues his overzealous enemies, they discover yet another Halo ring, uncovering long-buried secrets, including an unlikely ally, that will dramatically alter the course of the Human-Covenant Conflict forever.
Two titles already arrived and with Halo 2: Anniversary we have reached the midpoint of the massive Halo collection. Next week, May 12th, the game will come out as part of Halo: MCC on PC. Just like past releases, you can either buy the entire collection and receive access to future releases for just $39.99 or separately purchase each game for $9.99. A steal when you consider just how much game you get for your buck here. Even better, it’s your choice whether you get the games via Steam or the Microsoft Store.
With 343 Industries being hard at work to make Halo Infinite the killer app for the Xbox Series X right from the start of next-gen, what better time to catch up with the seasoned series beforehand.
