Halo 3 is coming to The Master Chief Collection next week

Finish the fight

PC gamers can look forward to next week when Halo 3 joins The Master Chief Collection of halo games. The iconic Xbox 360 game will launch on July 14th for PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. Watch the release date announcement trailer here!

Microsoft is doing an exceptional job by not only bringing one of their most important console game series but also helping it preserve in ways previously not possible. By releasing the entire Halo anthology in a steady schedule, gamers on the PC who either never experienced one of the most influential games of the past decades or want to re-live a nostalgic heavy-hitter were able to see what drove Xbox fans to Big M’s console.

Generally speaking, The Master Chief Collection for PC has proven to be a massive hit on the platforms who have put their money where their mouths were for years of wishing to see the franchise return to PC. You see, while Halo is best-known for the Xbox, the first two titles were released on PC fairly early on.

As such, Halo 3 marks a big moment. Not only as it is the canonical first Halo games to not have gotten a PC port but also as one of the Xbox 360’s most popular games. Indeed, it may be hard to believe now but when Halo 3 came out initially, it remained the most-played multiplayer game on the console for a long while. Even leaving the massive Call of Duty franchise in the dust.

And soon, PC gamers will be able to experience this bombastic original conclusion the tale of Master Chief themselves. Spoiler alert. It doesn’t really end as we are still anticipating new Halo games 13 years after the fact. The timing and speed of releases in the MCC couldn’t be better with the highly-anticipated next-gen Halo Infinite being slated to launch this year as a launch title for the Xbox Series X and PC.
