Halo 4's live action web series, Forward Unto Dawn, has received a new teaser trailer before its grand reveal at Comic-Con this month.
Announced back in April, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn is a all-new live action mini-series that will air on Machinima and Microsoft's Halo Waypoint leading up to the release of Halo 4 on November 6th.
Not much about the series is known, except that there will be five weekly installments, each around 15 minutes long, that tells the story of how Master Chief inspired a young UNSC cadet who will eventually become a leader aboard the UNSC Infinity Spacecraft. This new character will tie into the plto of Halo 4, while providing a flashback to the beginning of the Halo franchise's war between the humans and the Covenant. The new teaser doesn't show much, but sets us up for what looks to be a promising adventure.
Microsoft has promised more about Halo 4: Foward Unto Dawn will be revealed at Comic-Con which takes place July 12 through July 15. Forward Unto Dawn will debut in October. This web series is said to be the "largest investment" Microsoft has made in a live action to date – and you can definitely tell from the high production quality showcased in this brief teaser trailer.
"We wanted to do something unique from a narrative standpoint that's big in scale," McCloskey said at the time of the announcement. This new Halo 4 web series will supposedly "make Halo accessible for people who haven't played the games." Enough rambling, time to enjoy the trailer!
While we're on the topic of trailers, Ubisoft has also released a new trailer for Assassin's Creed 3 to celebrate the 4th of July this week. It's awesome AND patriotic!
