Halo 4 Infinity Challenge begins December 17, win big prizes

343 Industries, Virgin Gaming, and Microsoft's Xbox 360 are teaming together to bring Halo 4 players a chance to win a UNSC-themed truck and/or cameo in a future Halo game. On December 17, 343 will kick off the Halo 4 Infinity Challenge, a free-to-enter tournament that tracks your personal score in War Games and the number of Spartan Ops chapters you complete on global leaderboards, as well as your progress with relevant Halo 4 Challenges.

The winner of the War Games leaderboard will walk…er, drive away with a new UNSC-themed, V8-powered 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor designed by the artists at 343. The Spartan Ops winner will earn an appearance in a future Halo game. The Weekly Challenge  winners will get a prize pack.

Although the competition is free for all players, you are still required to register for the competition. You can do so by visiting the Halo 4 Infinity Challenge website.

The qualifying phase begins December 17 and ends on January 10. During this period, you'll need to climb the ranks of the global leaderboards by competing in the SPartan Ops or War Games leaderboard. Following that phase, you'll be tiered into three groups (Tier 1: Consisting of the top 10% of players competing, Tier 2: Consisting of the next 11-40% of players competing, and Tier 3: Consisting of the bottom 60% of players competing). The final phase begins on January 12 and ends on January 19.

It should be noted that during the finals the leaderboards will reset and prizes will be awarded to the top performers in each tier. THe grand prizes will be offered exclusively for those that find themselves at the top tier. Best of luck to all those who participate!
